Australia's chokepoint is precise: Lynas is the only meaningful producer of separated rare earths outside China — the West's single plan B for the magnets that robotics, drones and defence AI run on, made strategic the moment Beijing weaponised rare-earth export controls. Around that sits AUKUS-grade trust, vast solar-and-land potential for future compute, and the familiar gaps: no fabrication, a thin frontier, and a wary public (47%).

Australia's play is to widen its one true chokepoint: scale rare-earth separation and magnet production before substitutes emerge, and stack trusted hosting on top — solar-powered, AUKUS-secured compute for allies who cannot put it anywhere else.
